When’s the RIGHT time to Master Plan?

Master Plans are useful (and oftentimes mandated) tools for creating a long-term plan for success. They evaluate where you are now, holistically, as an institution and create a framework for planning a physical site that allows your organization to grow into your long-term vision for guest experience, education, staff support, and animal well-being. But how do you know when it’s the right time to master plan? Use the decision-tree below to determine your next step in planning your organization’s future.

OUR SERVICES:

Full Master Plan

Master Planning is a holistic process ultimately focused on creating a feasible plan for your physical facilities based on sound business strategy to support your institution in achieving its mission over the long-term. It is both an analytical and creative process, bringing your staff together with outside experts to create a plan with enthusiastic agreement.

Master Plan Refresh

A Master Plan Refresh allows you to document known changes to the long-term site plan that no longer align with your current master plan. Have you received funding for a new species that you never envisioned would be in your master plan? Did you purchase an adjacent property that allows more space for the elements within the current master plan? If the fundamentals of your current plan are sound and do not require analysis of the market, revenues, site, goals, organizational theme, etc., but known changes need to be documented, a master plan refresh is perfect.

Strategic Planning

Our full strategic planning services give your organization the direction, tools and confidence needed to make quick decisions and focus your resources on maximizing your mission impact. We partner with Monumental Strides to help your team create an aligned vision, define goals, and build a roadmap that outlines the steps for successful execution.

Concept Design

Do you have an idea for a new exhibit or facility, and are ready to get moving now? Concept design is the first step to implementing a new site element. Concept design creates a comprehensive and stunning package for use in fundraising and garnering community support. It typically includes a site plan, basic floor plan, project program, concept narrative, inspiration images, and artistic renderings.
